Cutting Branches!

One of the projects that has been on Derrick's
mind since we moved in 4 1/2 years ago, has begun!
Derrick and Stewart started cutting branches off
of our big pine trees, in hopes to have at least 2 of
them gone by winter. The trees have been such a pain!
They drop pine on vehicles and on the ground. Then
we step in it or our dogs step in it, and then track it
around the house. It takes a lot to clean it off of our
vehicles. It gets on our clothes if we decide to sit on the
ground, or on the porch, and it doesn't come off! The pine
needles and pine cones are every where, and it
makes the yard look pretty bad, and if you step on
a pine needle, ouch! Nothing grows under the trees,
so we have little grass. The roots of the trees are
shallow, so there's always that fear of them tipping onto
our house. We want leafy trees! =)

They had an audience. =)

He was yelling, "Timber!"
Lowynn found this praying mantis.

Oddessey was intrigued by the mantis, but
didn't want to touch it! =)

They decided the rope they had on a pulley to get
the chainsaws up in the tree, would be fun to play
on. So, Derrick used it to get down, then up.

Stewart tried to pull himself up while standing in a loop
he made in the rope. Yeah, didn't work. =)
Then Stewart wanted a turn using the rope
to get down.

My kids thought it looked fun, so Stewart let
them have a few turns. =)

It was a fun weekend! I hope we are able to
reach our goal!

Fall Is In The Air!

Oh, how I love this time of year! When the air
gets cooler, the leaves change colors, and there's
so many fun things to do! We LOVE decorating
at our house! Our kids' eyes just light up when
we tell them we are going to decorate. They
get so excited and start jumping up and down
and giggling! There's nothing better then seeing
my kids happy! =)

She randomly went and found Derrick's hat,
put it on, and started dancing around. =)

Playing with some of the small pumpkins.
They LOVE to help!

Lowynn wanted to take a picture of us.
So, of coarse, Oddessey wanted a turn!
Here's our decorations!

In our picture frame, there's 2 more spots for
pictures, which we haven't filled. So Lowynn
put leaves in the spots. He thought he was
pretty clever for thinking of that. =) He's so cute!

Just Some Pictures!

Here's some pictures of the Utah State Fair Performance.

My kids think they need to take a bowl of
cereal in the van to eat on the way to school. =)

She's so photogenic!

Oddessey was asleep on the couch, and Lowynn was
giving her kisses. =)
Watching cookies bake.

Playing outside, and being silly!

Utah State Fair Performances!

They worked for 1 week on these dances! They worked every
night the whole week. On their Ghost dance, they
choreographed it on Friday night, then performed on
Sunday day. They did such a good job! I enjoy watching
them perform, and seeing all of their hard work pay off!
There is 6 dances, here is 4 of them!

Another Performance!

Derrick has another performance coming up!
It is on Sunday, September 8, at 3:30.
It's at the State Fair, and he is performing
for a half hour! He won't be performing alone.
One of his sisters, and a few cousins of mine,
will be performing, too. It would be awesome
to see some familiar faces in the crowd!

How In The Heck Did It Get In Our House?

Oddessey was awake, and said she needed to go
potty. It was about 8 am on a Saturday, so no
one else in the house was up yet. As we got down
our stairs and started to head into the
bathroom, I heared a bird chirp. Now, we have big
trees, and I hear them all of the time, but this one
was really loud. I was a little puzzled, and just
continued into the bathroom. As Oddessey
was finishing up, I heard the bird again. I
said, "I think there's a bird in our house,
Oddessey." She laughed at me and said, "No."
I then heard the bird chirp and it's wings flutter. I
started to walk into our dining room, when a
bird came flying into the kitchen. It scared me,
so I screamed. Then I started laughing, because
I had NO idea how in the heck that thing got
in our house. Oddessey was a little worried,
and was saying, "we need to tell daddy."
I was just going to go open our front door, and
hope that the bird would just fly out. Derrick came
down and said my scream woke him up. The
bird was in the kitchen, and we couldn't get
it to fly out. It was flying against the window, so
Derrick grabbed a box, caught the bird,
and took the box outside. & the bird flew away.
It was quite funny, and a nice way to start
out a busy Saturday! =)
